For many people in London the workplace is their new family and provides them with their only sense of community. London has a lot of workaholics driven by greed & fear, often referred to as ambition, the result being they spend the most part of their time at work. The consequence of being committed to work in this way, is that one’s sense of belonging, one’s affections become wholy attached to their colleagues. This is a risky because colleagues and superiors can be faily cut throat and dismissive. People respond to rejection from an employer in different ways, some might have a good cry, some will get angry and some might appear unaffected, but all will be affected, because all are human.
